Isabel Balteiro

Isabel Balteiro is a Full Professor in English Philology at the University of Alicante. In addition to holding a PhD with Extraordinary Award, she is an Expert in Virtual Training Environments and in Forensic Linguistics. Her main areas and lines of research are: Lexicology, Lexicography, languages in contact, the lexis of ESP (English for Specific and Professional Purposes), the teaching of the English lexis, as well as the incorporation of the gender perspective and the SDGs in the teaching of subjects related to English Linguistics. Dr. Balteiro has widely edited and published monographs and manuals as well as a large number of book chapters and articles in prestigious publishers and journals, respectively. Among her most outstanding works, it is worth mentioning her two monographs on conversion which obtained the 'Leocadio Martín Mingorance Prize for English Language and Linguistics' Award (AEDEAN, 2007 and 2008). She has also carried out various tasks and hold positions related to R&D management and academic management.
